All Your Questions About Our Service

Some of the most frequent questions we get asked.

1. What boiler brands do you fit?
We fit boilers from Vaillant, Worcester Bosch and Glowworm – three of the most trusted names in the industry. All of these brands produce highly energy-efficient models backed by manufacturer warranties.

2. What types of boiler do you install?
We fit combi, system and regular (heat-only) boilers. The right type for your home depends on your property size, hot water demand and existing setup. We’ll guide you through the options and recommend the best solution for your circumstances.

3. How long does a new boiler installation take?
In most cases, a new boiler can be fitted in a single day. More complex jobs – such as a change of boiler type or a full central heating system upgrade — may take longer. We’ll always give you a clear timeframe before work begins.

4. How do I get a quote for a new boiler?
You can get an online quote through our website or book a survey – either via video call (E-Survey) or an in-person visit. We’ll assess your property and recommend the most suitable boiler for your needs.

5. Will a new boiler save me money on my energy bills?
Modern A-rated boilers are significantly more efficient than older models. Many homeowners see a noticeable reduction in their gas bills after having a new boiler fitted, particularly if their previous boiler was over ten years old.

1. How often should my boiler be serviced?
Your boiler should be serviced once a year by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Annual servicing keeps your boiler running safely and efficiently, maintains your manufacturer warranty and helps catch any potential problems early.

2. Does skipping a service affect my warranty?
Yes, in many cases it can. Most boiler manufacturers require evidence of annual servicing to honour the warranty. We always recommend keeping a record of your service history.

3. What does a boiler service involve?
During a service, our engineer will inspect the key components, check gas and water pressures, clean internal parts, look for signs of wear or corrosion and carry out a carbon monoxide (CO) safety check.

1. My boiler has broken down – what should I do?
Get in touch with us as soon as possible. Our team works across Islington, Hackney, Camden Town, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill and we’ll aim to get to you promptly. In the meantime, if you suspect a gas leak or CO issue, leave the property, open windows if safe to do so and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.

2. Do you repair all boiler makes and models?
We repair a wide range of boiler makes and models. Our Gas Safe registered engineers are experienced across the most common domestic boiler brands.

3. Can you fix my boiler in a single visit?
We aim to diagnose and repair boilers in one visit wherever possible. We carry a range of common spare parts to help us get your heating back up and running quickly.

1. What is a powerflush and do I need one?
A powerflush is a deep-clean of your central heating system that removes sludge, rust and limescale from your radiators and pipework. You may need one if you have cold spots on radiators, a noisy boiler or a system that’s slow to heat up. Powerflushing costs from £650 + VAT for up to six radiators.

2. How long does a powerflush take?
A powerflush typically takes between four and eight hours depending on the size of the system and the level of contamination.

1. What is The Plumbwise Plan?
